Oh, the Wind and Rain
Oh, the Wind and Rain is a suite of ten wood engravings by Isak Applin. This set of prints was feverishly drawn during the early months of the Covid pandemic, while the constant wail of ambulances surrounded the artist's home in Queens. The prints record the trauma of the moment and recollect a world that suddenly vanished.
The suite is available as a book or portfolio, and several sets of loose prints are for sale as well. A title page, contents page, epigraph and colophon accompany the engravings.
Both the engravings and text were printed on an Albion iron handpress on dampened Zerkall Book paper. The wood engravings were printed directly from hand-carved, end-grain maple blocks.
Copies may be viewed at our offices in NYC and Portland, Maine.
