Cowboy Nute is a prose poem by Dave Snyder that recounts the colorful and adventurous life of J. Lester Nute, a bootlegger and musician who lived under a sawdust pile in Ossipee, New Hampshire.
Both woodcuts and words were printed on dampened Hereford paper on an Albion iron handpress from the 1840s. The woodcuts were printed from hand-carved Alaskan cedar, basswood, cherry and maple blocks.
